THE HUNTER
Hunting for food was nature�s way to skill man and beast to catch their prey. The great white owl with sharp beaks, talons, and two keen eyes are his weapons with powerful wings to scoop up his prize. Native American Indians learned from that predator owl and invented weapons they could use to hunt and prowl. Sharp arrow heads were like talons of fright. Bows carved from birch wood and leather sent owl-feathered arrows on a deadly flight. But, their hunting skills had to be learned and sought while the next generation had to be taught. The great white buffalo became a spiritual symbol for hope and gratitude while the Indian survived as the hunter for food.

News bulletins, editorials, and cartoons he created resulted in requests to draw portraits of girlfriends and even their pets. Graphite pencil drawings of those requests were successful and pleased his shipmates.
